Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Xerox, Global Imaing, XBS

I've heard that Global Imaging service technicians, now XBS technicians, no longer report to their XBS/GIS core or the service managers associated with the core. Instead they report to Xerox directly. Is this correct? If so how is this any different from a Xerox sales agent that sells the equipment and then has Xerox service it.

I've also been told that all billing, service calls placed, toner ordered and any administrative support is no longer associated with the local XBS/GIS core...or won't be very soon. Instead all of this will be transferred over to Xerox directly. Any truth to this?

Service still reports to their local managers but VP’s of service report directly to xerox now, no longer reporting to their local core presidents. The techs still get paid by their local cores.

I was in the location to get my ID checked to come aboard HCL and one of the local GIS Admin staff was there. She was moving to HCL. Stated that all Admin Staff were moved to HCL.

Starting in June all service technicians will become Xerox employees.

Hasn't happened yet at my core. Service still reports to our core leadership. However, most of our call center, and billing/leasing teams have been rebadged to HCL. Supplies are still shipping out of our local warehouse as well. Now having said that, I don't doubt what the OP is saying will happen in the near future.

It isn't true today. May 1st it is. Senior service leadership in XBS are meeting around the 22nd to figure out the details. Senior leadership in my core are actively planning it ands taking the service leadership out of all of our internal processes.

I work at a core as service. I do not report to xerox, have never spoken to xerox/greg gentile as someone stated below, and I report directly to my core leadership.

It may happen in the future but currently, this is not true, so please stop the rumors.

How do any Xerox/XBS employees (or those who have been rebadged) not know this? Yes, it’s all true. Service all reports to Xerox and it’s led by Greg Gentile who has completely sold out. The whole premise is a cluster and Xerox can’t figure out how to design a process to deliver it, much less deliver the systems to support it. Xerox has gutted GIS, yet ‘leaders’ can’t understand why Q1 results are in the toilet. And the other shoe, er, shoes haven’t dropped yet. Wait until the geniuses in the C suite see Q2 results after the rest of their austerity measures are announced. They’re all a--holes in it for themselves and their paydays and the common worker will be left holding the bag. Who forecasts 3 years of declining or flat revenue and thinks that’s a winning recipe? And who buys that sh--? Oh, wait, Wall Street does. Nuff said.

The OP sounds like a competitor who is trying to get some dirt. If you actually worked at an XBS core; you would already know these things.

All those things (service, supplies, billing, 2nd level support) are moving to a “shared service” eliminating duplication, redundancy, inefficiency or whatever Visentin wants to call it.

GIS/XBS supplies are not currently handled by Xerox Direct. But i would be surprised if they aren't moved over to Direct soon.
