Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Offer Letter and Arbitration Agreement

Did anyone receive an actual offer letter with pay, benefits, etc? Or just a checkbox for arbitration agreement? Feeling like this is setting us up to be taken advantage of, any insights?

@1abl

"I was told that associates that are 65 years old will be able to collect their pension and still work full time."

That is a true statement - "mostly" always has been for anyone, anywhere !!!

BUT.... IS IT A TRUE STATEMENT IF YOU WILL BE WORKING FOR THE new Sears - THAT'S the clarification that is needed

@YuWFVQx-1abl. Thank you for the information. I won't be 65 for awhile. So it is good to know the facts. Thanks for sharing.

@YuWFVQx-1umx I called about the pension today. I was told that associates that are 65 years old will be able to collect their pension and still work full time. There is a lot of misinformation going around. Please only post facts people please.

I am a long time employee and haven't heard anything about collecting my pension and still being able to work full time. Is this true? My HR hasn't been told this. Where did you get the information from?

Those of us older associates were told that after the new company begins we may collect our pension and remain working as full time associates. All of us know that those who survive another round of lay offs will probably have to take a pay cut. We will also get all our vacation pay at the end of April beginning of May.

The very last ones holding down the fort will take the hardest hit. Get out while you still have some dignity left. Not to mention, options.

Check box, consent to be screwed over without recourse. Although they dont intend to at this time, they retain the right to, in the course of normal business decisions. I am sure they are only looking out for your best interest as valued employees.

Of course they are going to take advantage of us

Substantially the same pay is the key phrase

As soon as everyone has signed they will tell us the company is smaller so therefore cannot pay the same as in the past

Wage cuts across the board

Get ready....

reviewing an offer, most likely will not check the box, terminology rather onerous
