Who gets paid that low? Call center workers and bank tellers. Call center jobs have been and are quickly being replaced with automation and more outsourcing. I guarantee those workers in India will not be making 20/hr. As for bank tellers those jobs are going more to virtual tellers. Eventually there will be no tellers at a bank. Just ATMs and and virtual teller kiosks. Nothing to see here move along.
How many more layoffs will there be to accomplish this? And how many more jobs sent to India?
Calling it now, we are gonna lay off a bunch of people.
A raise doesn't mean anything if you are on "the list". I got a raise three months before I was laid off. Just remember who is getting double digit raises every year during each of these six years of layoffs.
