Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

HR ??

Does anyone else that this centralized HR system is a joke . I come out of a building where we don’t have a physical HR rep.

We have to use the online portal or phone call to communicate with a HR rep.

Feels like people on the other end of the computer or phone really don’t give a c-ap. Anyone else feel like this or ????

I always had a positive experience with dealing an in-house HR representative. The online Hr is a nightmare. Some colleague have waited three months, and then receive a generic response that does not even apply to the question asked. It gives the impression that corporate really doesn't give a c-ap.

From the standpoint of getting HR services its definitely faster.

As a mgr trying to make schedule changes its a nightmare!!

Getting generic response that really does not pertain to the schedule requests.

Having an associate agree to work, cant pick up the shift because its not their zone and being told they should use the self service tools.

Taking additional steps and hours waiting a response to accomplish something that takes five minutes for me to edit

My experience is working from the DC.

So I everything was done over phone & email . It kinda works but removing the rep from building, IMO gave life to a questionable work culture. I don’t believe we ever have a rep visit to communicate at DC’s. Our rep actually went to the stores .

I actually use them more often. But I ALWAYS take a picture of what they said.

No I actually find it to be much simpler. HR deals with the facts and gets back to you in 24 to 48 hours. It used to be you had to wait until an HR rep was in the store and then they had to clear anything with someone higher up.
