Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

CX/CMS Degradation

Nothing but bad news since the new management takeover in the CX and CMS orgs. In the past three months, the following has happened:

  1. Management stopped approving on call pay entirely

  2. Salary freezes for all employees below G12 (even with a strong Q1 and Q2 so far)

  3. Employees are being asked to work extra hours + odd shifts to cover up for poorly performing offshore engineers

As if these changes aren’t bad enough, there’s already rumors of major restructuring that will impact the majority of CX.

A lot of senior dead wood moved into roles that they are spectacularly failing at... if you think that's not on purpose SVP's win both ways: either the dead wood gets cut and cheaper people get promoted, or less likely, they perform, and can take on more responsibility without more pay. Management will get cut, hunger games for their staff... hunt's already started BTW.

New CMS leadership is delusional. No understanding that, because CMS competes against Cisco SP's & partner's most lucrative business, our sales VPs hate CMS because most of their $ comes via partners, or is directly supported by partners.

Sometimes I wonder do people think Cisco will keep them on the books till they hit 65. Cisco is not a union shop like a GM or a Ford car manufacturing plant where you are guaranteed a job till you retire, and after you retire, your son or daughter gets to takeover your job. Not Cisco. Save your money, be prepared to be pushed out at anytime especially if you are approaching 45.

@YvuJOzt-1fow. I wonder if you will feel the same way when your reach 50+ and arbitrarily get laid off due to age. It happened to me after 20+ years at Cisco.

@YvuJOzt-1fow

A lot of the people I work with are like myself, 50+ and laid off from Cisco. We work for a competitor you have defiantly heard of and are taking market share from Cisco at a high rate. Walmart is not in my future employment plans but it may end up being in yours.

Those old timers you speak of letting go are the ones that built the company up so you younger folks can have a job. I'd be thanking them.

CX is bloated with oldie timers. they are a drag on medical benefits, not to mention their low productivity. i say chop anyone who's 50+ in CX. let'm work as cashiers at walmart or krugger.
