Why would you do a major layoff in sales at the end of q3? Stupid timing.

Just got confirmation here.
i'd bet on fake news...
big layoffs in august, stealth layoffs quarterly
So this fake news? Or cards held close to the chest?
Sell up.....sell over
Hold on to your butts.
That’s not a good sign!!!!!!!1
Some got invites to Impact/GSX, some didn’t. Anything to read into that?
Not sure if this will be announced on beat or G’s call.
Any more news on this one? Real or fake news?
Cisco doesn't need to invest in better products. Our business model is built on government relationships, product quality and innovation are inconsequential at Cisco.
Almost all of Cisco's sales are thru the channel, Lots of Cisco sales people are paid on deals they have no involvement. The whole goal setting and sales compensation model is full of corruption. Cisco would be much better off putting shifting resource from expensive sales teams, and into engineering better products.
LR in sales makes no sense. GES is killing it. Not sure how commercial and sled is doing but nobody seems to be hurting. Everyone I talk to is making plan no problem.
Why do people think there's going to be a LR in sales?
The purpose of the Q3 timing is probably to avoid booking and canceling a bunch of extra travel and hotel for GSX 20 for folks getting the LR
How deep is the cut in sales?
Sure that all makes sense but the web site isn’t ready and neither are partners.
employees in the sales organization make an enormous amount of money, moving to online sales can help out with stock buybacks and dividend increases
chopping will take place in the last week of April. sales is moving online, no need for human sales people, just a few maybe. customers can order products online, pay online, get support online. CX is also facing a major chopping. engineering will see only a hair cut.
