Today i have learned that oracle have laid off approx 100 people in different cloud segment in India , including support , plateform development and others.

Hiring happens from open market, it is open to both Native Americans and h1b.

Hiring managers get resumes from in house recruiters. So no shabby business here.

high % of these prospects somehow are h1b. Hiring managers only chose from this pool.

Once you are on board in company, there is no differentiation. All employees are equal.

Indians are cheaper and easier to control. Depending on their status, it is often difficult or even impossible for them to change jobs for long stretches of time. So we can work at least some of them like sla*** and never give them raises during those periods.

So these IDC people won't get severance package? If the yforced employee to resign, can't they get severance package? Then will IDC employees get severance package as part of lay-off/riff'ed? Please advise. Sharing info is good for other who will be in next cut.

100 is the official figure.The numbers are much higher. Most employees were asked to resign. So that does not qualify as a figure in layoff.
