Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Glad I left before the storm hit

I used to work at a local GIS core... I left in the summer. I heard early rumors, but I left because of the TERRIBLE office culture at my core, and the regional management that seemed to be above all rules... This is what I can tell you... I am very glad I left. One of our GIS managers left to my current company... then I came over.... then another one of our old team mates came over... and another is set to come too. Stop sticking around waiting for the old dog to learn new tricks. My colleagues and I drank the GIS/Xerox cool-aid for far too long, and (now that we're on the other side) we are glad we made the switch. Better culture, better compensation, we're all selling WAY more than before... and the best part? We actually LIKE where we work... I'm sure some will be safe... I'm sure some will be fine... but I'd been through 2 other restructures, at previous companies, and stuck through them.... 3 words for you: not worth it. Seek new opportunities... find joy in your job again. Good luck out there, to all being effected.

I was on the Xerox side. I loved my team and immediate manager but above that it was awful. They are probably under pressure too but after half my team got let go, morale was k--led. Easy to see where this ship was headed after watching so many techs be forced to reapply for their jobs at lower pay at GIS. Will miss the old Xerox. Ursula was the downfall but Visenten - clearly Icahn's henchman is putting the nail in the coffin. If anything comes out of this ugliness, I hope it shines a light on unrelenting greed. It's not making America Great Again. It's turning us all into financial hostages.

I honestly think leadership doesn’t even know. That’s the scariest part they are rolling with the punches but I agree being proactive and taking control of the situation is best.

I love my core and I am so saddened this is how it’s ending. I am sorry your core didn’t have a strong bond. It’s unfortunate. Best of luck on your new role.

it says that they don't care enough about their employees to tell them what's actually going on... they care about the money. They'll play the "denial" or "ignorance" card for as long as they possibly can, so that they can buy time. They're banking on people quitting from frustration, so they don't have to lay them off and pay unemployment/severance, in some cases.... In others, trying to keep employees on long enough for their replacements to get fully trained in India (HCL)

What does that say?

What I can also tell you, is that all of GIS/Xerox's competitors, are hearing the news about XEROX/GIS, before their own employees are being informed.... That should say a lot
