Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

That seems to be the content of the vicious circle that is in play at Xerox. In that sense, whoever thought that the HCL situation wasn’t just the beginning of a long and painful process where the company is cutting and restructuring, and basically will no longer exist as we know it. In my head there is absolutely no reason to stick around and be a part of that process that will be painful even for those workers that manage to go through it without being cut. Nothing good can come from this, dust off your resumes people!

@YxTOPx0-5ass/GIS Forever - You're delusional. You think admin is no use to you NOW? Wait until you're dealing with Indian staff with a language barrier/thick accents. We did not have a lot of admin turnover in our core, so speak for yourself on that one.

This whole thing falls apart without all the groups working together. It's sad you don't see that.

And what do you mean by "Us customer facing employees work at a different level than the data entry folks"? You work harder? Or do you mean you work more than the average person because you're chasing the almighty dollar? Not everyone wants to give up more than 40 hours a week for money. Some of us "data entry folks" like the stability of a regular-paying job and lower stress and more time with our families.

But whatever.

Who are you as have you not been paying attention to what is going on?

What good are sales if you have nobody competent to manage the admin portion? You do realize that HCL has not started doing any of the jobs yet!

You do realize that Xerox pays lower than GIS did?

You do realize the sales comp plan is going to change for the worse?

If you think your career is going to be great and make lots of money, good luck selling the outdated Xerox technology!

would you like to try to set up a contract with al! the incomplete and sh--ty paperwork turned in by sales?

do you know how complicated it is and how much you have to learn and know to be able to do so?

it's people like you who give sales a bad name!!!

Admin is the reason why customers get billed and get billed correctly

We are all going down? No one on here mentions the growth in service and the transfer of ALL accounts to XBS to maintain. Yes sending our admin to HCL was rough, and not knowing what’s next is a headache, but on the service side the story is very different. We are hiring techs and sales reps to accommodate the influx of accounts at a rapid rate. Xerox realized that their service and sales models were nothing compared to GIS so here we are. Yes admin was gutted, but those jobs were easily replaceable which was proven through high turnover of admin people in the cores. The sales teams and tech teams are solid and as long as you stay on top of your work you should not only be okay, but when the pay equalization occurs to put gis employees at the pay rate according to xerox, many of us will be getting substantial raises. I’m not leaving my core until I am asked to do so. Us customer facing employees work at a different level than the data entry folks and xerox has shown us who they really want working for them. Skilled positions and sales at least at a XBS level are good to go, for now...

Or you can stick around as long as possible until the dust settles and be able to say you made it through all the sh-t and here you are on the other side. Xerox will still exits in some form. So if you feel your chances are good, stick it out until the bitter end. After all I make excellent salary, why just walk away from that?

They keep feeding us lies and people are falling for it. People you need to wake up and realize we are all going down. Wake up and get your resumes updated and move on. Get out while you can.
