Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

What will part-time be like now?

Many part-time associates work 30 hrs on up now due to shortages and are used to those hours. If they cut that it's not much of a paycheck. If you ask it they just say we don't know except you need good availability. I hear rumors of 4-5 hr shifts only

I listened in on a conversation my GM had with a group of part time associates. 18-24 hrs is what they will be scheduled but they can still pick up extra shifts.

"18 minimum hours per week to 25 Max hours a week part-timers." Is exactly what my manager told me during the Talk. Don't see that working, but then I never thought a company could do away with personnel or not have a cash office. Never thought leads would take on manager responsibilities. Or that door greeters would work the desk.

Part timers are going to pick up shifts when the full timers are on vacation. They are also picking up the shifts when the main Baker is off or on vacation . That should be fun since our part timers have no ideal how to bake . The other “ BAKERY 1 ASSOCIATE - that knows how to bake - is working 1-9:30 . Really dreading to see how this is going to work

Our part time people make at least 28-30 a week now. Will that be changing?

I heard the same thing. I hope that is just a rumor or a scare tactic to make people open their availability, but who know with this company. I know people still call off all the time, points or no points.
