There is a widely held opinion that the odd numbered # LL could be eliminated with zero impact to the business LL5, LL3, LL1

This is definitely true in the technical areas such as engineering , mobility, analytics and IT.

The people in these areas actually need to be subject matter experts in order to make good business decisions. The old Ford mentality is that these people should be generalists with Ford political skills. This might of been a good idea in 1950, but in 2019 very bad idea. The amount of wasteful projects initiated by the “generalists” is astounding. Anyone at the lower levels raising their hand to say excuse me, the better way costs 1000 not 10,000,000 finds themselves retaliated against. The problem with “generalists” is they can’t tell the difference between facts and fiction. They invariably go with the snake oil salesman’s proposal and not the qualified technician’s solution. Which is how Fords ends up in their predicament.

@Z1xjv3n-3ihq The ones coming from China and India are here because their mommy and daddy's money got them here through paying off colleges and various business contacts. You should really try visiting one of those countries or talking to those people. Our workers from China spend 90% of their time taking naps and watching Chinese soap operas without their headphones. Their work ethic is laughable and so is your opinion.

They are here simply because they are cheaper and they can't just leave and work for another company due to Ford holding immigration papers. They are Ford's indentured servants.

Actually the best and brightest are the ones who come from China and India. They are the ones with drive and ambition to risk a change and move to a new country. Kind of like the American forefathers.

The upper management at the Ford Motor Company think they are getting the “best and brightest” out of China and India. What they actually get is the mediocre and malcontent. The best and brightest stay at home with their families. What Ford gets are those that wouldn’t do well at home. Now, the mediocre and malcontent are the management making the decisions. They have little pride in the success of an American company. And if it all falls apart, they can go home.
