Thread regarding Sears layoffs

How much time does Sears have left?

Aside from the fact that in my mind Sears is long gone, the reality is that I don't see much change on the field since the new company was established and therefore I don’t think that things could get any better. How much time does this new Sears have before the ultimate end?

Sears will continue to muddle along for however long Eddie wants it to and can secure financing for. Not a second more, not a second less.

New logo.

New product.

New management.

New focused store format.

New Go Forward Plan.

New capital.

New investments.

New lenders.

New executives.

This is a new company that brings a new energy, but with the same Sears spirit that Americans have loved for over 100 years.

100 years from now, Americans will still be shopping at Sears.

Wow!!!

I wonder which state you live in. Your cleaning crews are probably illegal immigrants because no legal citizen i.e caucasian or African American lazy communities will not work on a cleaning crew!!!

Now this is the true meaning of the end game for sears, business 101 break it up, reap the rewards, keep it till the very end, then sell off for millions.. Great to be an capitalist... and be totally ruthless...

I love shopping at Kmart. It's the only store where I never have to wait in line.

Realistically? Probably years. Not as a “retailer” but the thing is a giant real estate shell gamble. $5 billion in debt was erased in the bankruptcy the bad leases nixed. He needs to drum up maybe $100 million to fill stores with merchandise every quarter. And don’t forget stuff still does sell. Not necessarily profitable but enough to offset some of that cost. You staff the stores to the bare minimum as he gets people to buy leases, and real estate and stores close. The operating losses will be a tax write off for his hedge fund. Your dead mall sears might be operating 3-4 years from now as Eddie figures out how to hold some ancient cheap lease then sell it back for millions more than it would otherwise be worth.in the mean time his agreements with citi and whoever will mean whatever employees there will push credit card signups until the bitter end.

"Eddie is a complete failure who for some inexplicable reason never handed the retail side to his intellectual superiors, which includes the illegal immigrant cleaning crews."

Our Kmart can't even afford to play for an illegal immigrant cleaning crew anymore. They are forcing the associates to clean up the place now. With little to no real equipment at that. Thanks to our lord and savior Eddie!

On average, there's only 4 Sears and 4 Kmarts per state. Of course that's really concentrated in a few places like California and Florida. For most of America, Sears is a memory, and for everyone under 25, Sears is a never was, as relevant as Montgomery Wards. Sears was always just a real estate asset plus a declining retail business Eddie could sell off in pieces and pay Seritage's rent. Sears HOLDINGS. Transform HOLD Co. It's all just passing through for him, something he can squeeze dry while he destroys people's lives. It's too bad he's so bad at it, because someone with an ounce of ability could have at least added value and made lives better, but Eddie is a complete failure who for some inexplicable reason never handed the retail side to his intellectual superiors, which includes the illegal immigrant cleaning crews.
