Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Hiring

LinkedIn is advertising Phx. Aero is hiring, Don't do it! Why in the world would anyone go to work for this miserable company? Unpaid OT, 12 hour days, no advancement, no employee value, unobtainable goals and dead lines. Run away as fast as you can.

@Z2yl7ze-4kxc if you're stressed out turning wrenches try a different plant or work the off shift. While new red badge employees might start with base salaries in the mid 40's, you can easily boost that by 30% with moderate overtime. Lot's of weekend work is required but like I said, it's definitely possible to double your income with the kind of unlimited overtime we see but there's no telling how long that will last.

Phx sky harbor is a horrible place to work. The management is terrible and have no idea what to do to fix the huge backlog of work. If it is such a great place to work- why are the best young engineers leaving? Management treats the employees like they are 5 years old and like sh--. There is a huge disconnect from upper management and middle management. Yes, I would leave but I'm very close to retirement and no one will hire a 60 something employee. At this age you are no longer a asset. You are considered a liability. There wouldn't be such a large percentage of older employees in the workforce if there was affordable health care. Yes , I'm old enough to remember companies that had health insurance for retirees and cared and respected their older employees. It is not the case at Sky Harbor. Everyone I know are hoping to hang on and not unfairly put on a pip. I'm just trying

to get to retirement to get out of this dump.

Are you kidding? 100 grand a year, No one on the floor makes 100 grand with overtime. Some might get close but they are employees that have been at honeywell for a long time. Those employees have huge targets on their backs because of vacation and their hourly wage. If you are a new red badge employee you will be making much less money than an long time employee and never see that yearly income. Also vacation time is not considered time worked there for it is much more difficult to achieve higher yearly income for the long time employee with a large amount of vacation time. You are expected to cover 4 or 5 different areas and be efficient in ALL areas. The stress is unbelievable. IMHO as soon as the economy slows down there will be mass layoffs in the aerospace business.

Why are they hiring in the USA ? I thought the Aero goal was to move everything including design out of the US and other high wages areas.

Once caveat here, the best jobs to be had are hourly (not salary). All OT is paid and there's plenty of it. Most of us hourly minions are pulling close to or more than $100K. We do put in a lot of hours but there is zero stress and the work is easy.

I agree with xxu.

Honeywell won’t change until enough people do something about it.

There are many ways to do something. An effective one is to find a job at a different company.

Don't join Honeywell Aerospace. They try to conceal their identity on LinkedIn, Indeed and other job boards. It is a garbage company with a garbage management.

Some folks are hanging in there trying to make it to the finish line. Do support them because they are the best!

Almost every post is from an Aero engineer ranting about free overtime. Do something about it or quit crying. www.speea.org

Totally agree, do not even consider joining this mess. Don’t be distracted by the salary which might sounds over the market.
