Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

New Jersey

I've noticed way more security these past couple weeks. Usually our office building, comprising of a few companies, has security people floating around but lately there's religiously been 2 security personnel outside the entrance to our wing.

Are there mass layoffs hitting NJ Operations soon? And if so, when?

That is to beef up security. Why everything is linked to RiF?

Everything about AIG is disturbing mid level managers hardly ever speak to you & walk right past you you are a nobody here in KC SS it’s pervasive and the ones older are in some sense stuck in between a rock & a hard place leave for what they don’t want to hire you after you hit a certain age so you hang on over worked under paid & definitely under appreciated this Co or organization (unorganized chaos) will reap the karma it is so successfully sown they have cut into WC so all bets are off now how much longer until this lob is moved overseas Manila KL it’s at best a c-ap shoot by now - anyone want to hazard a guess what’s in the offing - thanks

(Below) are you in NJ?

And I agree, I basically sit at work and apply to jobs which match my skills (because AIG has no idea how to utilize the progressive digital/technology skills some of us may have) while thinking to myself that I'm a complete loser for working here despite the fact that I know I have skills that literally nobody on my team has. And why?? Because managers are not knowledgeable enough to know what it will take to successfully build teams designed for the future. They're stuck in the past and will probably continue to be even after the get let go.

Yes. Something is coming. If you get cut, consider it a blessing, because this is by far the worst situation I have ever worked in. Michael Scott from the Office could be CEO as long as he is part of the clique.
