FFA & SCO HOST

So today there was no host scheduled and both lot attendants called out and click n pull associate didn't show . Was running the front end , doing orders, membership calls and jewelry , sending my only cashier to do carryouts while I covered him . No one else was scheduled until 8AM ( cashier wise) Asked for help and was told " too busy " . Called more people in and they got there between 8 and 830.

Store manager questioned me as to why there was no host and told him no one was scheduled at all until 1pm and that I just saw a cashier walk in around 8:05am and was sending them . Told it was not acceptable and I should have done better, there should have been someone there the second we opened . I cant edit or make schedules . So how is it my fault . No one comes in until 8/9 on the floor anyways so I couldn't ask for their help either .

About 2 hours later I was automatically terminated for breaking FFA Policy because it was unacceptable we had no host when that is out of my control.

If you just reach out to ethics it would be investigated for consistency across clubs. It doesn’t matter what the users of this website say or don’t say for you to keep your job. If there was more to it, it will come out. If there wasn’t then be humble when you get your job back, or you’ll find yourself in another predicament.

I know our CM thinks he is better than everyone and can get away with whatever he wants , however in this case he made a mistake and it will not be let go , trust me . I just wanted to see if other clubs had-gaps in-coverage as well for a Host like ours does and what has happened if anything.

A severe policy violation that would be terminated on the spot would be gross misconduct, harassment, theft, acts of violence, threats of violence or even working off the clock. And even those mentioned seem like no brained are investigated or called into through ethics typically, so a third party decides on how to handle it, not the club manager.

But having a register uncovered that seems a little far fetched when you’ve had not other coachings on file.

No coachings at all. Apparently this was a severe policy violation which is grounds for termination .

Managers are not adjusting the schedule or adding hours and we are not allowed to make adjustments ourselves .

We were completely dead . At most 20 people if that used the self checkout .

Cm questioned me with attitude and when my manager came in he was told to term me because of no host and he told me that he hopes I know that he didn't not make the decision not did he want to and said do what is necessary to get your job back .

I’m still having a hard time believing this... sorry. Few questions,

  1. who is checking schedules days out to ensure coverage is there?

  2. This was only an hour, and your club is that busy?

  3. What were your other coachings for? Or did you have zero coachings, and terminated for this one instance?

  4. Why is your club manager doing terminations?

For a self checkout host?! Half the time, we don't even have one at 7am. Or if we do, they pull her/him to go zone. Wow! Makes no sense.

No , no more to the story , that's literally what took place , Never had coachings and was told it was a huge policy violation that could not be overlooked . However I am fighting it any way possible .

There has to be more to this story. You don’t get fired for one incident like this.

The manager was "too busy" and didn't want " to be involved "

Red prairie is supposed to make the schedules and the managers tweek them. Call home office then the labor board and file a complaint. If all that doesn't work then call the Attorney General of your state. They will call you back the same day and let you know what your options are. The A.G. works for the people. Try it out I promise it will be worth your time.

Should of had a floor partner cover self checkout... no one is too busy, if they say that get with a coach. Hell could of put maintenance in the lot, use your resources... that's part of being an m.s.s. fix the problem other people create...

Seems like there should be a little more to the story... additionally, I would think one would reach out to mm or hr for assistance. Not sure I see the purpose of posting on here if you were truly terminated for the little info you provide.
