That seems to have become the sad reality. Two of my colleagues moved to competing companies and I know of at least a few people that did the same. All of them went for better paying jobs. The sad thing is that Oracle creates good employees, but doesn’t value them when they reach their peak. Wonder if that practice will ever stop.

Two words. Either "inertia" and the fear of making change. (the devil you know) or "retirement" and its not worth looking because because you ware counting the days until you leave. I saw both while I was there.
Blacklisted by Oracle? Ruh roh!
don't you get blacklisted once you leave and you can't get back in?
Nearly 100% of the talented people who joined my team in the last 2 years have now left.
I know that at least 50% of the talented people in my group who left the company voluntarily have come back within 3 years. Grass is not always greener.
Oracle creates good employees? Not sure about that. They consume good employees from other companies and spit them out
I agree that oracle doesn’t care about retaining their talent. That said, why do people still hang around there when they’re worth much more?
