Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

This can't work

Why does Xerox leadership believe that laying off most experienced employees with the most know how will solve the numerous problems created by their own inadequacies and bad decisions?

Has this ever worked for any company?

Of course it didn't, but don't expect that to stop the geniuses in charge here.

What the OP was trying to say is that the bottom line is the driver of layoffs. If you are experienced, then you are expensive Xerox is trying to survive from one quarter to the next.

FSM of techs who have 20+ years and techs who have less than 5 years experience. I can tell you first the guys with less experience are better their jobs than the guys with more experience. Every one is stuck on how things used to be. Less experienced techs are more capable of adapting to customers needs and wants.

It's not about who has more experience or not. It's about the incapacity of Sr. LEADERSHIP to increase revenue - they assure XRX is a powerhouse tech company but not exactly in what technology.

Believe me, if revenue was not a problem, no one would be thinking about laying off... But here we are.

Experienced absolutely means you are good at your job because you've seen every scenario, you've learned from your mistakes on what works and what doesn't, you do it quicker, you learn shortcuts, you are valuable!!!

I would take experience over cheaper labor every single time!!

Just because you’re experienced doesn’t mean you’re good at your job.

It's all about the numbers. Quality of work has no bearing.
