Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Yes to rotating days off!

Glad someone changed locking in your days off. Not a bad change at all! You are still required to work your shift assigned to you do to seniority but have way more flexibility with days off!! Great move!

For the person bragging about how much “vacation”time you have you had best hope and pray that Sam’s does not take “vacation”away and start all over. ‘Vacation”time is not mandatory and Sam’s can change that as they see fit. Do I see them taking it away completely? No. Can I see them changing and/or altering how we get “vacation” hours? In case you have not noticed they are already doing that.

Me and my other lead on the shift have already worked it out so that we can swap to make 2 days off together every week.

The 4 floor leads are now on a 4 week rotating schedule with one weekend off a month. The Leads still are split with the same 2 am leads and the same 2 evening leads. I hate weekends off, especially when you have to go back to that 6 in a row k--ler until you have the next that Sunday off. I will probably work in an extra PTO day every other month to break up that monster 6 days in a row. Heck I have nearly 275 PTO and PPTO combined hours to us... having nearly 7 weeks off every year is hard to beat. I love my job and am thankful that I am blessed with so much benefits beyond a pay check. Go Google and see how many companies off as much or

more paid time of, what you find is the having 35+ paid days of is very rare.

Big winner for this adjustment is the Deli and Produce leads. They went from closing 5 nights a week to twice most weeks. Now Bakery and Meat leads took the hit by going from no closings to also 2 a week. Already heard from a Bakery lead that everything was fine until the Produce and Deli leads cried the blues about the original schedule. As the Sam’s Club Turns!

Thought these new changes only apply to leads? Once again, picking and chooseing . No one likes their schedule. How is anything with this system remotely fair? Some associates get two days off in a row, some do not. Some work EVERY WEEKEND and some get a Saturday or a Sunday off. Those required to work Saturday and Sunday must then use more PTO just to get a weekend off . Sad and Ridiculous.
