"I'm a 4th generation railroader as well as a diesel mechanic"

Wow, I would have never guessed that by your inability to hold a conversation without cussing. If your family wasn't several generations inbred, they would most likely be ashamed.

Hey “garbage” man, it’s not complicated, it’s not whining, it’s not BS rumors. Upper management has said that they plan on having .5 mechanical employees per locomotive, and they were at .51 BEFORE deciding to put 200 more into storage. It’s just simple math and a head’s up to remind people they will notify us they need 100 fewer employees on May 21. Hopefully, the resignations will result in fewer furloughs, but rest assured, the mechanical department head counts will go down in June.

This is all garbage. These locomotives going into storage have already been counted into furlough numbers. If you dumb f---s would worry about doing your jobs as much as you do about spreading rumors, they wouldn't have furloughed. I'm a 4th generation railroader as well as a diesel mechanic. The railroads have always furloughed when there business went down or they wanted more money back. It's called grab your f---ing balls and become men. If you dont like how the railroad is being operated, become the CEO and change it. This newer generation is made up of d--k s---ers. I was brought up in a family where the man provided for his family regardless of days off, shift or being furloughed. I've been furloughed and I didn't cry, I went out and got another job to continue to provide for my family. Become men, it doesn't matter the job. Get out there and find another job. Grab your f---ing balls and become men.

Putting more locomotives in storage would be a bad idea. Dwell time was around 15 hours last week where I work and it was only because the trains were waiting on power. Store 200 more and the trains might get moving in a day or two.

Honestly whether this is fake or not who cares? You can safely assume that UP will keep laying off everywhere until they cut too deep and crater the place. Then they’ll try and hire some more people and will have to pay out the butt to get anyone to come to the wasteland.

200+ more locomotives in storage this month equals another 100 furloughs...thereabouts. Labor review coming 5/21, and they said we’ll know as soon as they determine anything.
