Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

For me there's not gonna be a next time

Handed in my resignation. Managed to land a job at another railroad company. It was a hard process but at the end i payed off. I considered UP the company where I would reach my pension, but the time comes when one has to be honest with himself that the name of the company is the only thing that is left and that it is not the same entity as it was.Staying in a company that does this to its workers wasn’t an op;tion for me at some point. I would advise everybody to do the same.

Congrats bro. Had to make that move from UP myself. In California you need 2 incomes and a side gig. Had no time for these Lance and Jim Get Rich Quick Games. Praying for the rest of the Brothers and Sisters I left behind.

Everyone really needs to know and understand what this company is doing. You might be the one moving the power, inspecting the inbound/outbound, repairing that track, up (DOES NOT CARE). you are a number, they will and are doing what they need to make the share holders excited, almost like a cheap p--n, but playing with peoples lives. Jobs are out there, just not with this company, got my letter took two weeks off, very good vacation. Sun 19th filled out three applications, not no Walmart/ fast food, some real jobs, got two calls on Mon and hired on Tue. Money is 2 dollars less but can deal with that. Find new work, don't wait.
