How We Measure Reliability Your reliability is measured on a rolling 13-week basis and is available at all times in My Day through My IN-SITE.
To make it easy, your reliability measure is color-coded:
Meeting ExpectationsColleague has worked 97% or more of scheduled hours
Needs ImprovementColleague has worked at least 94% but less than 97% of scheduled hours
Below ExpectationsColleague has worked less than 94% of scheduled hours

Some things do not affect your reliability measure:•PTO that is pre-approved by your People Leader •Schedule changes approved by your People Leader•Reasonable use of MSP self-service tools to advertise and/or swap shifts•Approved leaves of absence or legally required accommodations (e.g., ADA)•Sick/Safe Time protected by state or local laws (only in certain locations)

  • The following locations are excluded : 71001, 71003, 71022, 71030, 71031, 71034, 71036, 71039, 71040, 71226, 71367, 71370, 71371, 71372, 71379, 71428, 71433, 71439, 71443, 71444, 71447

The Reliability system is sh–. People get passed over because they’re favorited by management where those who are less favored get treated differently. Feels like a potential lawsuit

New reliability policy is a losing situation for employees, you get dinged for everything if you come in early or if you stay later as well. It’s difficult to keep track since no information is really given to us when the alert appears on insite. I truly suspect Macy’s opened a Pandora’s box when Implementing this new attendance policy as it’s extremely unrealistic and may potentially cause several lawsuits. I know of a couple situations where employment favoritism plays out with this new program since management gets the alert and excuses their nonsense while people who genuinely have an emergency or sickness get thrown in the red because they may not be in managements favor. I really hope Macy’s steps back and Analyzes this program and does away with it.... I know they won’t though.

Dispute everything because those managers just let those go and they will approve after a week and the incident that made you lose will go away.

This is how the company address Reliability Concerns. Concerning Patterns: Regardless of your reliability measure, if you demonstrate a pattern of behavior below expectations (repeatedly missing scheduled weekend, key day, or evening shifts; leaving your department or work station excessively), your People Leader may discuss the issues with you. If the pattern continues, your People Leader may them using our Performance and Conduct Management program. Falling Below Expectations: If your reliability is below expectations, your People Leader may discuss this with you; if you continue to miss reliability expectations, your employment may be terminated.

The company is looking to make a big push to role out neighborhood doors this fall and one of the findings from the neighborhood stores that launched this year is that the store environment is so miserable that every colleague who had saved up attendance points used them to avoid coming to work or to give themselves much needed breaks from the cripplingly unrealistic expectations for the poor chumps not fortunate enough to get cut loose in the downsizing. We had a lady in our store who had saved up a bunch of points and she used them in two months because her back hurt after being forced to so much physical labor after the change and she was in her seventies. So say goodbye to your points and get ready for a neighborhood store and the new attendance policy coming to a store near you.

i like how i am going to be unreliable b/c I am PT and I go over budget hours when my FT supervisor is on vacation (there's only two of us). I know I am unreliable because I should be able to do a PT's and an FT's worth of work in half a day without going over.

The points were a joke anyway since you could have a 100 points and that would get you nothing. All it did was maybe weed out one or two who called out constantly.
