Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

How is hiring going

We have lost people and they keep leaving. So my question is how will this new scheduling work if we don't have enough people for each shift? I'm pretty sure the 4 to 12:30 is well staffed but who in their right mind will want to work 3 to 11:30 and no weekends off?

I’m in my right mind and I chose 3-11pm. Because my right mind said get my technology certifications and leave Sam’s ! So my right mind is going to school during the day and work at night.

That’s what I did with my right mind !

@trn Go work on your reading comprehension, who said working as a policeman in the reply? Could be a radio dispatcher, a custodian at the hospital, or even someone who only pushes people around in a wheelchair. No one is comparing a forklift driver to a cop, try to stay focused on the point of the post, one persons trash may be another persons treasure. You do bring up an interesting point if you are claiming Sam’s is only a entry level job, not a career. Seems like a lot of people be all getting caught up in feels for it to only be a McJob.

LOL..dont compare driving a forklift and stocking to a police officer or working at a hospital. OMG really. So funny. Those are professional career's . This is an entry level job period.

Who would want to work third shift at your local 7/11? Who would want to work on Christmas at your local hospital? Who would want to work the 3-11 shift at your local police station? When you look at a situation only from your own perspective, there are a lot of things in life that do not make sense to you. While it is harder to find eligible hires in a job market where the unemployment rate is 3%, how about the people that lost their jobs when a lot of the Sears and Kmarts closed locations? Have you ever shopped at a Dollar Tree on a Sunday night and look at how trashed the store is and how much c-ap is piled up to be put out 😳? Maybe going from a Dollar Tree job to starting at Sam’s Club would be a big improvement for others, just because the new shifts are not for you, do not assume others would or could not do those jobs.

I took the 3-1130 shift and chose Sunday Monday off. Who would want to get up at 2 or 230 am and get ready for work. Our night manager and lead have both quit. Not hiring until after block schedules start.

I can't acknowledge your post with a plus or minus, because of the s--c-de reference. To do so might be misunderstood. I have people at my store with the same problems. I wish we still had a PTO, but we don't. I hope someone on here has answers. Anyone?

Oops, you ask about hiring. There is a freeze on hiring until later this month according to my department manager.

Ohio here. Most of our night shift quit. No one wanted the 4-12:30 shift either.
