Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Getting paid for buying back shares

It should now be clear to everybody that since oracle is not experiencing any growth and the increase in EPS are due to share buybacks using oracle cash, what the 3 stooges are really getting paid for is using oracle cash to buy back oracle shares. Nice gig if you can get it, especially if it pays you $100 million a year.

How does this stagnant market capitalization which hugely lags behind the increase in market cap of other tech companies, benefit oracle shareholders? Hmm, not sure it does!

Did I mention that MSFT’s market cap just reached a TRILLION - now, that’s value added by a competent CEO!

Market cap of oracle is some $200 BN, LE doesn’t have tie money to take it public and I have to wonder which PE form would be so clueless that they would want in on this deal. Dell had and had a future; oracle having missed cloud, not so much. So, at some $36 BN a year in share buybacks it will be a while, until oracle is private and that’s assuming the cash flow generation doesn’t drop off significantly which is a huge risk. So, not a realistic path.

Agreed; taking Oracle back to private would allow LE and his crowd to stay away from Wall Street day to day expectations. Dell has done similar path.

Look at the trajectory today.

Stooges must have pumped in lots of money into buyback yesterday to get that rally started (assuming people would buy their stories about constant currency and growth story). At this rate, they can keep buying back and take it private in few years
