The previous poster is correct - I worked at the Eau Claire office for nearly ten years and was hit with some pretty severe medical issues. In the middle of it all I got a new supervisor who was freshly hired and immediately started getting written up for BS reasons whenever I came back for a new leave. HR did absolutely nothing in regards to helping me get disability accommodations and they actually came back with a bunch of requirements from my supervisor that were in direct contradiction to what my doctor had recommended (basically a more flexible schedule to deal with symptom flareups and to see medical specialists as they wanted me to - none of which had not been a problem before I got her as a new boss). If they don't want you, they'll get rid of you. I'm glad I managed to use my FMLA and disability leave strategically keep my health insurance long enough to get what I needed done paid for, but not everybody is so lucky.
there must be more to it than this. Just saying. I am sure there are hundreds of muslims working at the company.
If you've worked at UHG, you would know that the reason they aren't discussing this is because it's true. What are they supposed to say, "You're right - We discriminate". That's not how it happens. Bad work environment. A higher up decides you're the target and that's it - could be because you're a woman or a minority or because you said something he didn't like. HR is there to protect the higher up, even when it's a great employee being targeted by a not so great higher up. Nothing new - feel bad for the guy though - but very common at this place.
