Next Phase: Specialty Raise, MGMT changes, Associate raises

Specialty departments like H&W will get a minimum of 17 an hour. Optical Manager raise starting at 23 an hour. Pharmacist salary will also go up based on how long they've been at Wal-mart/Sams. They will also be dropping around 2 manager positions per club and giving Team Leads more responsibility. This will happen around Q3.

Q4 will see associate raises up to 14 minimum an hour to compete with other businesses. But no compensation for the long time associates who are currently getting paid more.

There was more but that's all I can remember from the big meeting last week.

$14 an hour already being tested in areas hardest hit with open positions.

The elimination of a manager from each is true. They not giving leads a raise and keys just to walk around. Once all food certified and they think leads are ready bye bye 3 assistants.

The OP has a great point and dont be surprised if they elimanate a mgr in each area. With leads carrying keys there will less needs for asst mgrs. theres no such thing as merchandising anymore that is done by the buyers, they tell us where everything goes and we are no longer allowed to make decisions on merchandising. The company continues to post about getting the best people possible and unless they start paying alot more that will never happen, however if they eliminate mgrs that would increase alot of payroll dollars.

I call BS. They ain't giving out raises to anybody without giving them more work and saving $$ over all by cutting somebody else's job. And pharmacists already make a buttload so there not going to just fork over more cash.

You people on here get fooled too easy. Pay attention please. You guys know they did not close all the clubs and keep us all short handed because they want to hand out more money. Sam's is struggling to keep up. The layoffs will continue. The company will keep shrinking. Holding out for hope is natural, but this person is blowing smoke.

Did you hear anything about marketing department? It is so hard going to work every day and not knowing . Now with all the raises except for team lead in marketing .. something has to be changing !! Get it over already !!
