What a bunch of nonsense. When I retire I plan to spend all my time on soc media sites pretending I still work for Chevron... you know... fun places... like thelayoff.com.

What a pile of dog doo! What about the Chevron Retirees Website. Run with the Companies Blessing by a bunch of Chevron Retirees. What about my Retiree Medical PPO Card with the Chevron Logo on it. Or hey, my Chevron Gas Card still says EMP on it and it’s been renewed. What about my AT&T Account setup before I retired with Company Discounts. Again the OP knows zero, zilch, zippo, nada.

This is BS. I sat with HR for my retirement exit and this was not raised.

What I do know is employees are prohibited from posting photos and comments related to company business unless authorized, like pgpa.

After you are gone, if you don't follow Chevron rules, all they can do is stop your annuity payments. This was done in 1996 to a former company Treasurer who went public with tapes of company officials disparaging minorities. (You can bet he is sorry he didn't take the lump sum!)

LOL "Employees are required" ??? if someone is no longer an employee how can they be required? I am sure Chevron can do absolutely nothing about it

I knew of a handful of Chevron employees in my former BU who practically lived paycheck to paycheck. They exhibited no fiscal discipline, no propensity to save money. I was amazed to find out out from their own mouth, they didn’t participate in the company 401k program. How crazy is that? How hard is it to put in just 2% of your paycheck and get the company to gift you 8%. But some of these people I knew refused to even consider it. I knew one guy who was a supervisor in his early 40’s who saved only the minimum in his 401k, yet instead of reinvesting his dividends, decided to take a quarterly dividend check to spend as extra only. Like he as a supervisor could make the pay he was getting stretch. Yes, there are to one degree or another, many people in Chevron who are living their lives paycheck to paycheck and not taking advantage of the opportunities to retire well at the end of their career.

Upon leaving the company, wouldn’t the same logic dictate the company is to request the return of any clothing and wearable R&A merchandise depicting the Chevron name and logo? On more than two occasions after the 2015/2016 layoffs, I have seen hobos and panhandlers on the streets downtown wearing Chevron baseball caps, tee shirts or an old winter jacket. Laughable!! I’m almost sure they were only homeless indigents who found the clothing in the trash or got the clothing handed to them by a Salvation Army, Goodwill or other charitable organization. But I wonder if I may have witnessed an actual former Chevron employee who was canned and who had never saved money for a rainy day. There are a few who live paycheck to paycheck at Chevron you know?

Really....who cares! Unfortunately there are those who can only identify with Chevron because it was their life....just let them carry on.

I personally know at least a dozen former colleagues who still have Chevron listed as their CURRENT employer on LinkedIn. I laugh my @ss off when every year rolls around and I receive a notification from LinkedIn to congratulate them on completing another service year anniversary. I really don’t think Chevron can do do anything about it, nor care. Maybe until many years from now after one of them suffers a financial setback and goes ballistic, then ends up on the 5 o’clock news after holding his family hostage during a 5 day SWAT standoff. Maybe then, the company will care about it and quickly disavow the person is a Chevron employee.
