I was a diesel shop foreman. I took a fairly large per-hour payout at a different job in a different industry, and I am happy.
I have job security. I have better health insurance. I make close to what I did while doing so much less work. I have a team instead of no fellow foreman and a whole bunch of disgruntled craftspeople.
Leave. You owe nothing to the railroad. Either you leave or they’ll make you leave on their terms.

You must be out of your mind ! Where I work @ UPRR as a foreman we make 90k easily. With OT up to 100k. Go ahead and leave and see how easily you can make that out there in the real word! Lol
Yeah that’s like $57,000 a year. I don’t know how you could make that kind of rich people money outside of UP.......
First poster is absolutely correct. To the poster asking where to make 30.00 an hour anywhere is the answer that equals to 4,800 a month to be treated like sh-t.. Here are a few suggestions Amazon/Any trucking company/ Any manufacturing company they all pay that or more and you no what? You won’t be treated like sh-t. You are worth more than think do not tolerate there treatment of any employee being degrated or abused it is not right no matter how much money. Any one that takes part in what UPRR is doing right now is a disgusting human being.
