Gutless and spineless for doing the job that is required of them? 🧐hmmm last time I checked you are hired to do a job for a reason...to implement what it is the company wants. Sometimes that trajectory changes. Sometimes you agree, sometimes you don’t...sometimes the jury is out until everything is implemented and then things calm down to really see if it is working or not. Just because you don’t like something or lose your job over it or are affected by it in some way negatively doesn’t necessarily mean it’s wrong for the business. So many armchair quarterbacks on this site that think they have the answers to everything but all their answers are based off soley emotional responses. It is quite comical and proves how unhinged most of you are with reality and business. How gutless and spineless are all the whiners that still go in every day instead of walking off the job? I think we all know the answer to that.

Goodness gracious. How long has the OP been working for UP? It don't take long on the commode to figure out most people in authority are "Fake, Gutless, and Spineless !" Misery loves Company; Screw-up/Move-up. And for the educated folks, this is called the Peter Principle. And it is not a theory, but actually provable, and is in full force on the railroad. I could not become one of them, turned my stomach.

They way I see things are for the most part management sees crafts as basically dumb, illiterate, dirty pieces of garbage. With out them to tell us how to do our jobs in the mechanical side we might as well be blind and our hand tied behind our backs.
Before long there will be more just out of college grads in the shops than crafts to do the work. When that happens they will have no clue how to do their jobs. For the most part these grads have no clue how a loco operates. I’ve been with UP long enough to know that when the right people get promoted from the craft everyone benefits.
UP doesn’t want that anymore they want people to implement their plan and have no free thinkers with real experience. They are easier to control.
We did, but we don’t even have a shop anymore!
