Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Deferred revenue, cloud growth.... Am I missing something?.

I must be missing something.... maybe somebody can enlighten me.

Oracle reports results. I hear lots of b---s--- around the renewed Cloud success and growth.

I look at the numbers and the deferred revenues are flat compared to past FY.

Do analysts know how to read?. Are they paid not to?.

translation: you aren't smart enough to read financials so stop giving out opinions.

Analysts aren't smart enough to read financials and they give their opinions every day.

Low usage, high churn, flat deferred revenue.

There is a lot of insider information in the streets, no need for deep financial skills.

Very low cloud usage, negligible net growth and no questions or comments from analysts.

No more questions.

This obviously confirms that there is no growth to come in oracle cloud revenues. SC’s projections of double digit growth are wishful thinking.

In any sort of subscription business, there is a concept of 'churn'. That means how many customers are going to drop you at renewal time. That means any real growth in business has to be measured after the customers that have dropped have been back filled. The flat deferred revenues may be an indication they are only keeping up on 'churn'.

It is very refreshing to hear again Oracle talking about Database Options, like 7 years ago.

It is, otherwise surprising, that some people seem to be accepting this as a sign of Cloud growth.
