@ZKA7u3f-2pff Here is what happened: Steve B was ready to go with Wipro when HCL came in with a low ball offer that he could not refuse...

Actually Steve B had Wipro for everything but pulled back at last minute because they wouldn’t negotiate further. He has a long history of buying Wipro so he must have really been angered by something. In the end HCL is actually better than Wipro. Agree with all comments about them in this thread and can’t wait until I am laid off so I can publicly state some things I have seen under NDA.

In my experience TCS had fantastic support. Once they moved it to Xerox India it was a disaster for the next year or 2. With Xerox India rebadged to Wipro I havent seen much change since all the Xerox staff went. Still poor service of no follow up, no response, hundreds of tickets not worked.

The HCL rebadge was originally bid on by Wipro as well but Xerox chose HCL so I'll assume they came in cheaper. Wonder what's worse HCL or Wipro.

SUN Micro. Damn just look at the DFE UI thanks to them. That pos company destroyed everything it touched. Good thing Oracle is burying all that garbage.

That Abbott/WIPRO comment was dead on. I watched the El Segundo site go under and Indian job shoppers really helped the process along. WIPRO, TCS, HCL.

My WIPRO experience. Xerox trying to inject object oriented technology into printing platforms. Our hardware was all Sun Micro. Sun offered DOE software, Distributed Objects Everywhere. WIPRO claimed superior knowledge. Offered to send in their highly trained SW types to “teach Xerox”.

What liars. I’m not talking exaggerations or usual stuff new hires do to boost resumes. Just plain liars. Incompetents. Many were barely trained C programmers, “fresher” as they say. And how they would cover for each other, as if Indians vs Americans rather contractors helping.

Project went to hell. Top Xerox Mgr died of cancer. Next guy down fired. WIPRO liaison fired too, thank God. Still, so much wasted money and lost sales cost more jobs everywhere. Sun dropped their DOE platform right after, too.

Don’t trust any Indian contractors. Their plan is to move your job to India. The C Suite guys are not equipped to know good engineer from poser.

Wipro = incompetence. They hang up on people after being on hold for 30 mins. They say they don't know what you are talking about or they were never trained on that when you call for support and again just hang up on you. They literally have 1000's of unresolved tickets in their queue. We even have a process to bypass them now and go directly to 2nd level support.

Dealt with Wipro at Abbott Laboratories - damn near destroyed the place. Fired Nancy Berce as CIO over it. Horrible people mostly - a few smart.

You get what you pay for. Wipro had expert sales people that sold a bill of goods that Wipro could not deliver. Over sold, under staffed and lack of required skills. Typical Xerox, they took the cheap route.

Interesting comment about Steve B. Can you please explain a bit more?

Spelling skills indicate intelligence or awareness of spellcheck applications.

Unless you are living under a big rock, Wipro has demonstrated they are unable to meet their contractual requirements. Ask any of the XDX employees now covering for them. Not sure what will happen next, wipro exit/redo or SEC investigation of the Steve B/Alight/wipro dealings. Latter unlikely due to amount of money Steve can spend making it go away.
