Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Communication

A bunch irritated about the raises, they weren't giving to them selves. Congratulations the company felt you needed them to keep you. Long term associates upset because for years they've been capped out working for the same money even as leads they made nothing extra. They stepped down losing dollars at a time but still capped out. Some stepped down not by choice or by fear or threat of loosing their job. Mgnt needs to learn to treat all fairly without favoritism which if you have common sense you can see the difference. We have no control of what ever is happening all we can do is vent and keep working for that all mighty dollar and hope to make more. So at the same time earn your money it can be taken away just as fast as you got it. New leads treat the ones under you with respect I've seen yelling and disrespect since the change your new position doesn't give you the ok to yell and treat them indifferent. Respect for the individual don't forget these words they have meaning.

Yes! I have worked over twenty years. Yes! I am capped out at 20.37 No 2% raise for capped out people. Pay outs at end of year. Big f-----G deal! The problem is moran! I was doing more than most people before block scheduling. Now I am doing the whole damn club! why do I have to do all this fill in sh--? Am I getting more money to learn and do other people's jobs NO! What happen to levels of pay now? This is a bunch of F------g! BS! The members are running away and going to Costco, nobody on floor to help, because of conflict of schedules. Not a brillant idea! Oh! Yes! I am unskilled labor, so I guess I deserve this kick in the A-sss!

If you're making 20+ an hour to work in retail stop crying about not getting raises. You are WAY over paid at that price. No matter how long you've been there. That's why Sam's hopes you leave.

Pay is always unfair because we think we are not paid what we think we should be making.

So what would be fair? I know an associate who took the step up and now makes $5 more than what they original started. Another associate in the role was giving $3 more to meet the minimum. While two others will have to wait for the next year increases since they are above the minimum.

Guess who complains the most? So an associate at $18 will get an increase at the new fiscal year of 36 cents. An associate at $22 will get an increase at the new fiscal year of 44 cents.

Not enough? So at rate of 40 hours a week for 12 months not including overtime or bonuses starting with the 36 cents is essentially $700 before taxes. For the 44 cents is roughly $850.

What do you consider long term? I'm thinking 25 plus if your not capped by then excuse me if I'm wrong did you all not get merit raises or exceeds expectations 50-60 cent even 1.00 raise from what I remember oh then as fresh you got a 1.00 more after your regular raise of 2 % if you were getting all your raises you should be capped by this time.

News flash to your new flash. With a grain of salt. Leads was transitioned into the new role out of the restructure right . And so was all other employees. So everybody should be getting a bump. Because they picked extra tasks and changes just the same!

As a mgr you call it favortism and I call it going to the people you can count on to get the job done and 9 times out of 10 it will be a long term associate that needs no supervision. I cannot recall anytime in my 10 yrs as a manager having to ask a long term to put there phone away and take care of members.

News flash, not all long term employees are capped out, far from it. Maybe at your club but not ours. Leads were paid extra money for their positions it wasn't much but it was something extra. Now they are being used to do work that managers use to do, so they do deserve the raise they got. You mentioned respect for the individual, maybe you need to practice that yourself ref. your comment about long term employees !!
