Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Overheard a member talking on the phone today.

She was complaining about how the club looked. Saying she felt like she was shopping in Kmart again and laughing. Then she said, this is how you know a company is falling apart and eventually going out of business.

I can't say I blame her. We all feel the same way. This place is a ticking time bomb. Just imagine the members we don't hear. Probably a whole lot saying the same thing...

Do you really think mgrs have control on whats going on. They dont control much of anything anymore. They say yes because if they dont they will be fired.

I referred two different members to call home office, that our store management is helpless to do anything about different situations (layouts in fresh that eliminated good selling items, and the change to all Members Mark items).

There was a man strolling around the other day. I think his wife was shopping so he was just hanging out. He's over by the TV's and I ask him if he needs anything. He starts with small talk. Then he asks me what's going on around the store? Things just seems off around here lately. I agreed and told him they've been changing things up a lot lately. He then says, you think they're going to close the place down? Companies usually scramble then close. I laughed, said I'm not sure but it would probably be a blessing in disguise. He looked at me more serious and said, it would absolutely be a blessing. I'm going to keep those last words in my head. It's something to think about. Kinda encouraged me to start looking elsewhere.
