Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Keeping people away

Am I the only one steering people away from Cisco if they are considering applying for a job here - for their own benefit?

99% of job requisitions floated are bogus and whenever they want to convert a red badge or management want to bring their people then float the req, engage HR for formality or compliance and some of the management even do not follow the process, directly bring their own people on board. Even the promos are all pre-conceived, no recognition for hard working people. Some directors and VP rule their BUs/Depts as empire. HR is a dummy and has no role with all annual performance monitoring or tools removed. It is all the discretion and mercy of managers to give you promotion, salary hike and RSUs. Cisco managers have become the most corrupt with white collar crime

Whenever I am asked I just tell the truth. If you don’t want pay raises, or want to keep up with technology, like not getting promoted, or you enjoy worrying about layoffs every quarter go there. None of those who have asked me end up at Cisco. Many of those asking are college grads.

No I tell everyone not to join cisco unless they want a job where they spend all their time worrying when the next lay off or pay cut is coming.

You are not alone. We need to start a campaign. “Friends don’t let friends work for Cisco”.

Mind you, I used to recommend this place wholeheartedly, once upon a time...
