With the recent devestation, wouldn't we all be fools to think that the Optical Department is immune? I wonder what death they have planned for us?

I agree. They are giving all these positions raises but no one gives a sh-- about optical. People dont realize that optical managers dont get the 2% everyone else does every year or sams share (they get something according to their sales...and alot get nothing). With all the changes they put into place last year, i know alot of optical managers in my territory did not get a raise. But hey, keep giving raises to other positions that now make either more or close to what optical managers makes. Wheres the motivation? How many more things are they going to throw the opticals way to makenit even harder to make sales? People who dont work in the optical have no idea which is why alot of other workers think we do nothing. So far from the truth. Imagine feeling like u might be getting ahead and then constant stupid sh*t is thrown ur way bc someone who knows nothing about optical makes these changes that have been sinking u. Sams club is going to end up losing alot of good opticians soon. Other places will pay more. They already have a hard enough time hiring opticians bc no one wants to work there, they hear the stories. Good luck hiring opticians/optical managers when the staff u do have that works hard for u, walks out for a better job. Youre gunna need it.
As an optical manager all my long time opticians and myself are now making way less than what we should be. I have never been treated as management, and not with team leaders ahead of me I can see that we are not valued. Go ahead and cut us like everyone else
There is no future for the optical unless they can start sending us frames people actually want to buy. Lets redo the whole optical, give them all unheard of brands from CHINA and then get on them as to why they arent making sales. Good job whoever runs the optical decisions. You truly s--- and should know.
Unfortunately it looks as if the specialized areas might be getting hit as well. Walmart just eliminated lots of pharmacy positions.
As an optical manager in an unlicensed state, team leads get paid more than I do. What the c-ap is that bs?
