Block Scheduling Nightmare

Well Block Scheduling is in full effect and the results are like many predicted. Many 3rd shift associates left with their severance, many just quit. The promise of large amount of associates in the morning to help is a flat out joke. Morale is at a all time low, workers dont even smile anymore. It's not the work that they are doing it's the lack of direction, structure, and all around chaos. Who is in charge when the managers themselves are frustrated and ready to throw in the towel. Who thought this was going to work or even a great idea to begin with? If associates are supposedly valued, then why weren't we given the chance to give our input of whether we would like to see this happen? Because our opinions dont matter thats why. Sam's is basically being destroyed from the inside out, and it's at a rapid pace. Sad to say, but this company has nobody to blame to itself. You are seeing once hard workers giving up. And being pushed to the point of no return, who can only do so much, and arent respected for what work they do produce. You cant expect to build great things when you dont have the right tools. Meaning if you dont have the workers, the bodies to fill the areas, then you will fail. Sorry, but it's the truth Sam's Club

Members won't leave! They stay and stay. The other night, it was 9:30 before the club was cleared. The forklifts were basically at a standstill. We don't have enough associates to have the two needed to go with the forklifts.

Yup no one saw this coming. The 4am shift at our club is all long term associates who never worked a day past 3pm and they are crossing the exit door at exactly 12:30pm. All of their punches line up from the meal break to their clock outs.

The 3pm shift is stressed because they have to deal with members and only have if they are lucky 3 hours to stock.

There still needs to be a late shift like what @1oph pointed out.

Waaaaay back in the day, before there was a full-fledged night shift - people working overnights in all areas - there was a small night shift. They just stocked grocery and freezer cooler, making sure things were full and rotated. And run the stuff in receiving that came in during the day. The occasional small army would drop in to reset aisles or make moves. But everything that wasn't consumables was done by the group that came in 5am. I wonder why they didn't just cut back night crew to what it was before instead of doing away with it completely.

I came from nights to the 3pm shift. We were told it’s gonna be great because we are going to have so many people help stocking. What a lie!! We are lucky to have 5 people after the store close to do receiving, and stock 4 areas plus drop for the 4am crew. People are skipping their breaks and we are constantly going 100mph the moment we clock in because we are so under staffed. Managers are clueless on giving direction and they have no idea on planning things. They think everything takes 2min to get it done. It’s very hard to stay positive I tell you!! :(
