Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Media Storm over Outsourcing to India

Bloomberg reporting

'Increasingly, the iconic American planemaker and its subcontractors have relied on temporary workers making as little as $9 an hour to develop and test software, often from countries lacking a deep background in aerospace -- notably India.'

'Based on resumes posted on social media, HCL engineers helped develop and test the Max’s flight-display software, while employees from another Indian company, Cyient Ltd., handled software for flight-test equipment.'

Are these paragraphs talking about Honeywell ? I think they might be...

US is $21 Trillion economy with 330 million people and India is $2 Trillion economy with 1.3 billion people. No comparison. US will always be stronger. The question to ask is lots of companies like GM (EDS), Intel are bringing back design work to the US (Austin and Phoenix) because of the emails from India "What does this mean, please do the needful". Except Honeywell is lagging............Jack Welsh training, cant break it. Lots of IT companies in Arizona are employing folks here, just need to re-skill and apply for those jobs. Think the next generation will make use of these opportunities.....

The offshoring of engineering talent to cheap markets is destined to fail, meanwhile the traditional handoff of knowledge from one generation of tech professionals to the next gets shortchanged. The damage occurring to American productivity and ingenuity is dramatic and irreversible.

That article specifically mentions displays and test equipment.

Defense displays/avionics is moving to PR.

Deer Valley should be moved to Bangalore as well. All real work is done in India. Close DV down and let’s see if HTS can sell product without a US team. Apparently Boeing is buying.

Tech jobs in India is one thing, some smart dudes there. But i see project manager jobs in India, talk about ineffective, inefficient. We have India project managers trying to make it happen with supply chain by sending midnight emails asking questions like :What does this mean" or Can u do the needful, and no fault to them but they dont have a clue. The India jobs should be us giving them tasks to do.

Nothing will change. Outsourcing all types of work is now the norm. Labor will always be cheaper somewhere.

Greed is everywhere, corruption is everywhere, get use to it.

Let me just ask - how many foreign worker do you see in China (or India or Russia), and how many jobs are outsourced out of China (or India or Russia). Now compare that to how many foreign workers do you see in USA, and how many jobs are outsourced out of USA.
