they don't pay your earned PTO once you quit, so start to use it a full pay period before you leave

How do you get to use your sick time ? Take a leave of absence , stress, family sickness, anything that doesn't have to do with the person that the time belongs to ! I have the full 192 hrs. so unless I come up with an excuse to use it I lose it . Don't think any Dr. will write a note due to stress or just flat out hates this place!! I will think of something because I think everyone is owed that pay for sick hrs.
If you had any available, it should've been paid out. xrq: If you were there 7.5 months, you wouldn't have accrued any the first 90 days (3 months). I don't know whether you were ft or pt, but if pt, you would've accrued only a negligible amount. muy: For the love of God, please use your personal. The only way to access it is to utilize all of your PTO. If you leave the company under any circumstance, they will NOT pay out your sick pro personal. So, make sure that you always have your 40 hours. Start taking extra days "off" by keying pto on your off days every now and then. This does a few things: 1. It gives you a little extra income. 2. It ensures your average is always 40 + hours which ensures you will receive the maximum amount of PTO possible (what you get is based on your worked + benefit hours). 3. It ensures you always have a "vacancy" for your earned PTO. For example, a 20 or more year associate can earn up to 304 hours of PTO. But, once you have accrued that amount, you quit earning - even if you haven't "earned" all of that PTO in this fiscal year. If you carried 80 hours over, but your "bank" earns the remaining 224, you won't accrue any more until you "make space" for the new time by using the old time. Unless you have a specific need and are saving PTO for a specific event or events, you are mathematically better off to continuously use a modest amount.
I quit with 2.5 weeks notice given. I did not get any PTO or PPTO paid out. I was only there 7.5 months and was advised I had to be there a year for payout. I would be upset if I were a long-timer and was not paid but understandable since I was there a short time. When I started last fall I was happy with Sam's even during our crazy busy season. We were one of the clubs that implemented the changes a few months ago. It completely changed the atmosphere and working conditions. I chose to leave, wish everyone well....
It was always assured that the pto's are paid out when you quit in addition any leftover personal hours from the past is paid out as well unless you are termed.. Does the new Workday eliminate all previous policies? The loyalty that i have showed, i may need to have a lawyer involved as i have 500 hours in personal and over 230 in pto's.. I'm not changing my work ethics or leaving anytime soon, but is this fair?
in my store the optics person quit, no pto, nor pto for any other FT or PT once they gave notice
Yes, they do. Both PTO and PPTO are paid out.
I quit in April after 28 years. You get both pto and ppto. You do not get any of the old system sick or personal hours that were lying there.
