There is no way. The people in Tennessee are to ignorant to go union. Maybe California or Washington state. That I would believe.

Unions will not help. Look at the industries that were negatively effected by Unions....jobs that left the USA...Car,Garment, call centers and many others....they will close those locations or give them to indirect.

Everyone saying quotas are unreal so go union. How is union going to lower quotas?

Cool. Milk that retail clerk job for as long as you can without taking initiative. Walmart will come calling when they close your store.

"Why stay then?"...... Because I've worked in wireless for over a decade and previously made a good living. I have good benefits that include a decent 401k plan, medical, and paid time off. I have co-workers that I enjoy being around and have fun working together and have made many lifelong friends. I've been able to help customers adopt and understand new technology that will improve their lives and help them stay connected to family and friends.

But I'm the complainer for wanting to keep doing my job and being paid well......

Verizon wants me to quit so that they can bring on new hires at reduced benefits and pay. If I find something better I will leave, But I will not let a greedy corporation force me out of a profession that I enjoy so that they can pay executives and shareholders more money.

Why stay then? If you want to send a message to Verizon, quit and find something better. Complaining on a layoff board about how a mega corporation is misleading you will get you nothing.

I have no problem with my retail job being obsolete.

I do have a problem with Verizon for setting me up for failure. By increasing quota’s and kpi’s while they actively drive traffic away from corporately owned stores. Then they have the audacity to try and say I’m bad at my job because I’m not selling the insane amounts of pull thru devices they are requiring for bucket now.

I’m already selling double from previous years and making half as much. Traffic is way down year over year. The majority of traffic that does come into the store now are the same elderly customers with the same Facebook, gmail, and Apple ID resets or bill payments.

If they want to k--l corporately owned retail then fine. If they want to pay me by the hour with no commission then fine. But don’t try and gaslight me by saying the opportunity to make money is still there, I just got to sell, like they haven’t stacked the odds against me.

The more stores that go union, the more stores will close or go to indirect. Which will probably happen anyways. Union will not save your obsolete retail job.

After this months insane quotas it has become very clear Verizon is doing everything they can to force reps to sell insane amounts of devices for the least amount of commission.

I feel after this month more stores will consider going union. Just about everyone in my location is down 10k year over year. At this point what else is left to lose?
