Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Coming back to Cisco as a contractor for the third time! I love Cisco for the flexibility to work from home! Few companies allow this to their detriment.

btw, just joking. Don't take any of it too seriously. Not worth it. Enjoy the 4th!

Sounds like someone wasn't too popular in High School; didn't get picked for any teams in gym class and maybe ate alone in the corner of the cafeteria?

Cheer up and take one for the team! Don't you realize this is just like high school? :)

Message: "Don't look too much into politics, reorganization, or riff rumors. Work hard, stay organized, try to learn something.

You might not completely like it here, but there are many, many, many places that are not as good to work at."

Interpretation: you won't find a better job outside. Shut the f*** up and be grateful. Work hard like a donkey.

Message: "Just don't get too comfortable or complacent, and save your money.

Lower your expectations and you will be happy."

Interpretation: No matter how much you work hard, Cisco won't pay you back much. Deal with it.

Message: "You will miss this time here at Cisco someday, even if you are not currently very content."

Interpretation : Grass is not greener other side. WORK FOR ME, SLAVE.

Stop these scare tactics. We are not kids, we are well connected with market and peer companies. We don't visit this place to get the news. But to warn others to do something better in life than waste it to ungrateful manager like you.

All good points. It’s just a job. The old adage of “ the Cisco family” is way outdated.
