How did things turn out for you? Are there better jobs available? Are you still happy you made that decision?
I'm considering quitting, so it'd be nice just to hear how other people have fared after making the same move.

After 25+yrs I left SAMS and spent some time off with my family. Took my severance pay and left, you’ll be surprised how many companies out there are looking for ex Samsclub employees.
I still visit my friends at Sams , but that’s all I miss. I don’t have to stress myself anymore .I am getting great pay & benefits another company, I was hired in my 1st interview.Guys don’t be afraid of change just run with it , if u decide to stay or leave its on you .We had a great ride, it’s time to start a new adventure somewhere else.If you decide 2 stay, hope for the best , if u go there are jobs out there believe me. God Bless all of You
And a name or club number will cause you to believe? Like people couldn't make that up? Leave the people alone. They're just sharing their experience outside the club. You're just jealous that you haven't done the same.
People who say how much better will not leave there name or club number or where they went to work so Im skeptical to believe what they say.
I took a pay cut to leave. Our regional was psychotic and a control freak and the market managers under him all lived in fear and did his bidding out of fear. No matter how repugnant his wishes were. Repect for the individual became a punchline to a joke in our region, in our market, and at this company. I finally had had enough and left on personal principles. I now have my sanity back, and I don't regret leaving the pressure cooker of Sam's Club for one second. Sam Walton was quoted as saying, "The way management treats associates is exactly how associates will treat the customers." Truer words were never spoken, and Sam's Club has sealed its own fate by the way it has treated it own associates the past few years. But I don't care anymore. I don't have to.

I left earlier this year after 20 years of working at Sam's, and the only thing I regret is that I didn't leave sooner. At my new job I have weekends and holidays off. I have 34 paid days off a year (vacation, personal, holiday, and sick combined). Health, dental, and life insurance for my family is considerably cheaper and much better coverage. I have virtually no job stress. And I have a free plus membership for the rest of my life, which I pretty much only use online so I don't have to go in the club. Best decision I ever made.
I took a job making about the same as I did at Sams. I have less PTO but I work Mon thru Fri all day light, the ability to work from home, vacation accrual and better benefits. I dont have to sell plus and credit, stock or keep ungodly hours just to take pictures for workplace. Best decision I ever made. Take the severance anytime it’s offered
I get less PTO now also. I get 15 days per year. But I don't understand why that would be a deciding factor in bettering myself and family.
I got out. They closed my club and I took the severance and ran. That was 1 1/2 years ago and I am so happy I left. I do visit this forum still just to see the craziness that has gotten even worse. I did not keep my membership. I shop at Costco now. A place that treats it's employees better. No place is perfect, but I get paid more, I have less stress, I have more freedom, I have training, I can get help if I have questions. I am no longer in retail either. I'll never do that again. There is nothing in this world that will cause me to ever regret leaving or make me want to go back.
Self worth means more than time off!
Must be a really good job, walking away from a job that gave you over 31 PTO days a year.

Yes, after 25+ years on third shift I was offered severance, I accepted it and never looked back. I found another job with better benefits soon after. Sams Club is not what it once was ,I felt it was time for me to go. There comes a time when you let go, move on and feel good about the change. Or you can stay in a world that consumes you with no appreciation or respect for your experience. I had enough! I do miss my co workers and when I visit my old Club I can’t believe how terrible it looks! Associates look miserable and that makes my decision more clear! Moved on to a company that treats All their associates with respect not just the ones they favor!
