Club pickup

Any other club pickups being treated like red headed step children? We are so under staffed and no one will help. Managers don’t seem to care and just offer member satisfaction gift cards to remedy the problem. We never are able to have orders ready at the due times anymore

Some of our larger orders range from 200 to 500 pieces (same as you mixed merchandise). So glad someone else realizes how time consuming some orders can be when you have to have merchandise dropped., stack the pallets neatly, wrap and tag them, and haul them to receiving. Smaller orders with unknowns can be just as bad by time you walk back and forth between freezer, cooler, produce, bakery, and meat department. Not to mention boxing and separating cold items.

So, how many pieces are your biggest orders? At our club we have one member who buys 12 pallets of water each week...we finalize the order and leave the pallets in receiving to load him when he picks up. We have other regular members whose orders total over 200 pieces to pick and put on pallets and stage in front of the club for pick up. These orders take at least an hour to pick so the smaller orders due at the same time will not be picked on time. Then they expect us to load and dispense the orders as well with only 2 associates in the morning and 2 in the evening shift.

On the surface picking an order sounds simple enough. Sure...if the order is only a few pieces.

While not rocket science picking a mixed order of over 200 pieces of water, soda, snacks, candy, cookies, bread, frozen food, dairy and fresh meats and produce does take some thinking of how to stack the items on the pallet and where to stage the order when done. Sometimes an order like this can be 2 or 3 pallets and take up an entire shelf in the front end pickup freezer and cooler.

Typical Sam's. Club pickup is supposedly the wave of the future but the company doesn't give us the resources to keep up with the demand.

The two member assist associates are pulling orders here. No one on the floor is helping or trained to do it. We are suffering during the middle of the week when we have the most orders. We are forced to work every weekend but orders are much lighter on the weekend. So when one member assist worker is off during the week and only one is working the department falls apart.

Same here, desk associates doing pickups. Just like in the old days. Stupidity rampant. Have people who were club pickup forbidden to help. That’s right. Forbidden. Told they would be coached if they did. Company is run by stupid people.

We were told at our club we have no more club pick up person they are on the floor as merchandisers so the membership desk is pulling orders in the mornings. Managers keep saying more people are being hired and all floor people will be trained but so far its not happening
