Talk emerging today of possible layoffs in UK among software support teams that are beyond those that were confirmed for TSS in late June. Anyone able to corroborate?

Eayn. I hope this is not true, but if I had to guess, I believe it’s just part of IBM’s CFO’s relentless march towards lower costs. If IBM can outsource it internally (India, Far East, or Central America), or externally (HCL, Infosys, etc etc) they will do it if it’s cheaper Remember IBM is determined to save their way to profitability There is yet a second angle to this, and that is as Redhatters get absorbed into IBM, legacy IBM has to dump heads, as no head count increase will be tolerated
