Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Struggling with whether to just quit

I work at a core, I was badged to HCL, it has been one frustrating thing after another as HCL has had issues with EVERYTHING so far, they have managed to screw up more things than they got right, the language barrier is just too much at times

I want the stay bonus and I thought I could wait it out but every day I am forcing myself to go there, now they are coming to our core for 6 weeks or so.

How does one be civil to someone who is there to take your job?

We are short staffed as it is as many have left in my area and the last thing I want to do is put on a fake smile and train someone while also trying to get my job done

I hate to leave my coworkers in more of a pickle but I think my time is nearing where one morning on my 40 minute drive to work I may just turn around and go home for good

I wish everyone out there struggling the same as me , peace in whatever decision they ultimately make

I’m highly doubting we’ll ever see those end of assignment hcl bonuses. A rebadged hcl person was put in charge of timekeeping for all other hcl employees here at our core. That person also works with our core HR which is odd. We were informed hcl will begin writing people up for lateness and unexcused absence which leads us all to believe they’re simply looking for loopholes they can use to not pay out the bonuses & possibly deny us unemployment once they let us go.

For those who have forgotten or are miss informed if HCL lays you off within the first few years you are still entitled to your Xerox severance package. Now that is the Xerox package and not your core so it's not what you might think but in the end you might be employed for 9 to 12 months, have benefits where they transferred deductibles, make a stay bonus and make severance. And in my state, IL it's legal to take severance and unemployment.

I left because of my family, bc cobra would be crazy, and because a great opportunity came along. Apply for jobs and be picky. You have some time to.

Unfortunately you get to join the thousands of others who trained their replacements.We were instructed to do it with a “Smile.” Good Luck!

@vaq

are you serious? I wanted to be laid off, I wanted the severence

but no Xerox denied us that right

it is NOT my responsibilty to train my replacement, I will make sure to do my best at that(wink wink)

I hope a year from now we are all happy in new jobs and see Xerox stock worth $1

@hzm

Thank you for your comment, that was epic!!!

I am leaving right after the bonus, saving $ and will take a little time off, I am lucky I can get on my husbands benefits and will maybe temp until I find a job I really like

Our customers too are leaving in droves and our competitors are telling them what Xerox is doing

@ZWhgWVP-vaq, thanks for chiming in HCL....ha. No, it would have been better had XRX just laid this person off actually - the severance would have been better and they'd have a new job right now instead of dealing with this BS and chronic incompetency of HCL in every aspect of what they do.

Myself and my fellow employees hope you choke on this transition of our jobs to your armpit foreign country. Our customers are angry that you are doing this to us and know that the level of service is about to plummet. They are leaving en masse. Our competitors use "Xerox" and "HCL" as a punchline to their jokes in their sales pitches to customers.

To Johnny Dipshit and Carl Icahn - everyone in the cores despises you and what you did to GLOBAL. No one is going to want to buy the damaged goods of what is left of XBS due to your shortsighted actions. This is what happens when you make decisions based on false premises and a general lack of having a clue.

HCL - WORST OF LUCK in the transition. Know that the person you are taking the job away from hates your guts and wishes only the worst for you on this.

Unless the bonus is substantial (and I’ve heard for some, it is), get out now. I would not want to train my replacement. You come first, but anything you can do to F Xerox, I’d do that, too. Good luck.

It's all about perspective. You went from being an employee of your core, to being a temp for HCL. A temp with good benefits. This is much better than if Xerox had simply laid you off. You will receive a bonus for completing your assignment. Your new job duties include training others on how you've done your job in the past. At some point you may have to do it differently. This is a job. This is not personal. You could not have done anything to change this outcome. If you truly can't do this assignment, find another job. Don't let your happiness depend on a situation you have little to no control of.

Or keep extracting money as long as you can. You’re only in it for the money. Don’t forget that.

Practically find another job before you quit. Don't hurt your financials just to spite Xerox.

Who is coming to learn/take over your job didn't have any say in matter.
