Reactivated Night-shift for the weekend

Things got so bad at the club, holes everywhere. Whole isles decimated and steel was at max capacity. The call was made to temporarily reactivate night shift for last weekend. They got it looking good tho. Wonder if this will be a common practice every weekend.

Reactivated...lol oh night crew still hasn't switched to day side. And won't for another month plus. I'm on the pm shift lead. So I'm unloading water an fresh, answering floor calls, breaking down steel, covering cos lunch sometimes, working in cafe to cover lunches etc etc. The person that says the day is getting a taste of the work load...yeah come run with me. I'll show you a workload.

Instead of getting better this keeps getting worse. Now people are starting to have vacations and calling in so days are so short on the floor we only have 2 people and they are pulling orders all day.

We just went through inventory with this mess. 5 of us were to precount the building overnight for a few nights. Ended up stocking and running freight instead. Clubs are so messed up that now they are having several go to other buildings to help get caught back up.

@1fny Hold up! You're telling me there are clubs where fresh departments actually leave their area and assist in other parts of the club? [Insert Ron Burgundy meme]

Expect lots of overtime and enjoy it while you can. Cant see them continuing this and paying all the overtime. Something has to give.

Myself and three other guys from the meat room came in at four am a couple weeks ago to stock the other side of the store. They don't have the staff but still demand more from it.

Yeah our club has been coming in at 2:00 a.m. to give them time to do a reset, and clear the dock somewhat. But it's only like 4 people both team leads and a few other guys. I wonder if they will be going back to overnights after Thanksgiving ,because there is no way these stores are going to get stocked working around members. If not every store sales are going to be way down guess that's what home office wants. Saturdays are hard enough to work ,but Thanksgiving and after leading up to Christmas HEAVEN HELP US!!!!!

We have not been asked to work nights.

It’s been a nightmare at our club! We have no room in receiving to receive all the freight, hard to keep up on claims, 99 orders, loading up stuff for members. The new ASN app S---S and when you call home office they’re about as helpful as a brick wall! This whole “simplify “ was probably the idea of some fresh out of college kid who sits behind a computer and comes up with this c-ap!

They expected this. If you look at the job description you are expected to be available for overnight shifts. They let the night crew keep their differential as part of the restructure because they knew they'd just be asking them to stay any time there's a major reset or the club is trashed.

So now they will have to adjust their sleep schedule to be on nights for 2 days then go back to days for 3. That's going to become their schedule. That messes with your body after a while. Not good...

I've worked both shifts and night crew worked way harder on the average.

If they ask me to work 3rd to get caught back up, the answer is NO. The Clubs look bad and it's their fault. I use to take pride in my Club, but they dont care about the associates, why give a damn about them.

Day shift is finally getting a taste of the work load the night shift had to endure for years.

I think this will just push them to open later in morning. 9 or 10 to give extra hours for stocking. And to eliminate a couple managers and put more on team leads.

At my club this is our second week with night crew for the same reasons as mentioned. I believe home office is aware of the disaster they created. I'm sure this is happening company wide. After just one week without overnight everything with freight went bonkers.
