People have been saying we can expect more layoffs at Dell after Fourth of July holidays, and yet nothing has happened yet... Is it going to be this week? Or sometime later this month?
It would be nice to know more - if it's really happening, of course...

ISG channel Presales teams were "re-organized" nationally about a week ago. Meaning some were let go and some were "moved to a specialty" - pip to follow I am sure. The server technologist team centered out of Austin has been eliminated (as of September). Channel storage engineers (Partner Solution Engineers) will now take on Storage, servers, networking just like the old Dell days with the caveat that they now all report up the EMC-based food chain. Several long-time specialists in the East and Mid-west have been terminated as of this week. Some were sharp contributors and some, not so much. I do not believe they were tied to a number and that is most likely why. MDC sales teams and presales being slashed (again). Networking is in the process of taking a major reduction in force. There you have it...preparing for the earnings call. But then again...typical for a fall season at Dell.
it happened today in SC site. Network group got hit heavily w some numbers echoed through the vine between 20 to 30 percent getting long vacation from Mike whether they want it or not. dream comes true for some of you posted here 6 days ago that this was going to be the week.

Layoffs were announced on 7/24/2019. It affected IT, BOS ORG., the finance department etc.
Every organisation has layoffs and rehires all the time. We have more jobs than ever advertised here .
Where are you hearing these rumors. We're not hearing anything.
