Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Inept upper management

It is pathetic to watch the home office master plan unfold. They set out to cut all the long term staff and have been fairly successful in that goal. Too successful. Nobody knows how to do anything anymore or are too busy doing something else to be bothered and the longer term people who weren't displaced are all quitting. Further, nobody knows how to do the PTC job well enough to hire and train any more workers to replace the ones that are now leaving in large numbers. When they finally do hire some people they all call out or quit. Morale is in the toilet to the point that even the assistant managers openly complain when nobody else is around. The few people that are left are either in fear of losing their jobs or are actively applying for another one or both. Members have noticed the changes and are actively asking what the hell is going on at Sam's Club.

Everybody can see the writing on the wall. If you haven't got an exit strategy get one. And do it quickly. The Sam's Club Titanic is sinking and there aren't enough lifeboats to go around until management wakes up to the disaster they have crafted with their own incompetence.

To the former PTC. Most of us knew those things all along. And most of us suspected what a disaster letting you all go would be for the company as well as for us personally. We were right and the company was only counting the savings they thought they could realize by replacing you with that cluster of a computer program they call Workday. Thank you for all that you did and I hope you have found happiness after Sam's Club!

Thank you, as a former PTC you now see how we kept the wheel going 😊 for hiring, CBL’S, roll out of new programs as well as standing policy’s, health care and benefits, and a place to vent when needed. We were the bridge between associates and management.

It’s bad now as I’ve ever seen. The day stock is not working. More people quitting now on top of the 30+ we lost before it started. Can’t hire as fast as we are losing.

Have to agree. Getting rid of PTC was a huge mistake. The managers do not know Workday. Average number registers opened at our club is one. Lines are ridiculous. Members are questioning the changes, they do not like it. Many do not want to use self checkout or scan and go. They are old school people who like to be waited on. What is upper management thinking?

That's Sam's Club alright. Anybody above the level of market manager seems to have an average I.Q. of about 78 and an average ego of a drunken Donald Trump at a strip club. Nothing but a bunch of "yes" men afraid to call out even the dumbest of ideas for what it is.

Well said, it's so bad at our club that I'm even willing to transfer over to the Walmart side just to get the h3ll out!

Yep. And club managers, market managers and regionals just walking in the clouds clueless as usual. Walking into clubs acting high and mighty with the worst attitudes.
