Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

iIf HCL lays you off within the first few years you are still entitled to your Xerox severance package

For those who have forgotten or are miss informed if HCL lays you off within the first few years you are still entitled to your Xerox severance package. Now that is the Xerox package and not your core so it's not what you might think but in the end you might be employed for 9 to 12 months, have benefits where they transferred deductibles, make a stay bonus and make severance. And in my state, IL it's legal to take severance and unemployment.

I left because of my family, bc cobra would be crazy, and because a great opportunity came along. Apply for jobs and be picky. You have some time to.

Bumped from @ZWhgWVP-1alt for info.

You will get your severance if they lay you off. If they fire you with just cause, you get nothing. They can make up any just cause they want.

I was rebadged to HCL 4/1, the offer package does state if laid off within 3 years that we will receive the same severance package that Xerox would have paid...it is 8 weeks no matter how long we've been there..not 12.

I heard the severance clause was something like if employment ends in first three years, then you get the Xerox severance package on the day you moved to HCL (April 2019). It is about 1 week of severance for every year of service with a top stop of 12 weeks depending on your role

Read your original HCL offer letter you had to return to "usaoffers at hcl.com". If your terminated within 3 years you will receive at least the terms set by Xerox severance package.

yes this is true, if you are laid off within 3 years you get severence and unemployment BUT what happens if HCL gives you a permanent job offer and you decline, that's the question, will you get the royal screwover if you decline?

This doesn’t track with what I have heard at all. Read that letter carefully. Excerpt here if needed

Was the Xerox severance package clause included in the HCL offer letter?
