They hump cars for classification. They don’t hump locomotives.
How had you never seen it? Unless you never ran on 19 and 20 mains.... They're right next to the bowl and hump...

Shut down Proviso Locomotive and Car!! Its Useless without the hump!
Might not be the diesel ramp. Could be car dept. 12 were cut there 2 weeks ago.
Just shanty rumors at the time being but the word around Proviso is by the end of 2020 everyone up to 2012 will be furloughed.
Whether or not one man crews will also be implemented by that time is still up in the air and could cause further cuts.
Any confirmation? Everybody I talked to at the diesel ramp read or heard about the article but ain't been told squat. UP may want their pr mistress to get her story straight if she's gonna say employees were notified and werent.
