Thread regarding Pioneer Natural Resources Co. layoffs

Today will be strange

Walking into the office to find people I worked with for so long gone... I'm not looking forward to it. I guess survivors guilt is a real thing.

I truly wish all the best to all of those who were let go yesterday. May you find a better job in a better company as soon as possible.

I'll agree that it probably doesn't feel great to still be there, but you still get a pretty k--ler paycheck every two weeks. All I'm saying is sure the package is probably nice to get, but that wears off pretty quickly and you start wondering how long you'll be without income, or health, dental, and vision coverage for your family...

Feels like people were rewarded to leave and those of us picked to stay get nothing. Orders to report to new supervisor and treatment like a new job with probation.

I think you could argue that having a stable income (despite hating the job) can sometimes be better than 9-12 months of job searching and lots of uncertainty.

Why sad... those who left carried big buckets of money with them. What do you have?
