14 let go last month, 10 this morning (3 laborers, 1 boilermaker, 2 pipefitters, 2 machinists, 2 electricians). yesterday they told everyone layoffs may be coming in july, wouln'd say exactly when or how many. it wasn't 16 hours later they had a layoff.

Last rumor was Conway was suppose to get 5 trains back from Bellevue. Rumor is also 20% job cuts at Conway Engine House. No official report if either rumor is true and we probably will not hear the real truth from the company. The company was doing great but the CEO, Board and Wall Street has gotten greedy. I would not blame the shippers one bit if they found another mode of transportation when this company starts charging them for not getting the cars loaded and unloaded fast enough. Thanks for putting people on the street who's families needed these jobs. They prove everyday they are NOT a family oriented company!
Where did you hear it's up in the air whether they're closing Conway yard or Bellevue yard??? Please give your source.
as far as complete closures, haven't heard anything other than "locker room rumors"
